Are annual inspections required to make sure mold doesn’t regrow?
No. As long as the warranty holder has a current GOT MOLD Home Warranty in good standing, GOT MOLD Home Warranty will protect the home from the regrowth of mold.
Can a homeowner get a treatment if they don’t have a GOT MOLD Home Warranty?
No. Any individual homeowner must have a GOT MOLD Home Warranty. The application is available or through local one of our authorized insurance agents or click here.
Does ServTech have any responsibilities after the initial clam service?
No. There are no follow-up inspections required. GOT MOLD Home Warranty stands behind the Mold Protection Treatment provided ServTech applied the treatment according to the EPA label and GOT MOLD Home Warranty’s approved processes and methodologies.
How does it work?
In order for fungal and mold spores to colonize, surface moisture is required. This same moisture mobilizes the active ingredients in Fungicell®, which forms a film of active ingredients that become available once the spores try to feed on the substrate. Fungicell® applied as foam not only prevents any further activity and growth, but will penetrate treated cellulose surfaces to various depths dependent on the moisture in the surface and the wood species.
How does the deductible payment work?
Upon approval of a claim, the warranty holder is responsible for a deductible payment at the time the mold protection treatment is to be applied. The deductible payment is based on the square footage of the area to be treated multiplied by the warranty holder’s corresponding deductible rate per square foot.
How long will it take to service a claim?
Since most Fungus(mold) Protection Treatments will be for an affected area within the home and our product is sprayed in through the walls and doesn’t require removing and replacing walls, it will take generally between 2-8 hours to service a treated area within a home.
If a warranty holder has mold, will they have to have their entire home treated?
In most cases, the answer is no. Mold is in most instances located is specific areas where there is excessive moisture. Mold does not spread on its own and is therefore generally not in every room in a home. Upon approval of a claim ServTech will perform an initial inspection prior to providing our Mold Protection Treatment Program. In the initial inspection, ServTech will take pictures of the home with an infrared camera utilize a variety of tools and to find the mold or water damage show and review with the warranty policyholder the areas where there is excessive moisture or fungus(mold). ServTech will review the findings with the warranty holder and determine the area within the home to be treated.
What are the requirements of ServTech technicians to become a GOT MOLD Home Warranty licensed service professionals?
We require the following: (i) one of our two person service professional teams need to be licensed in the states in which they seek to be a GOT MOLD Home Warranty Licensed Professional Applicator (“GMLPA”); (ii) they complete the GOT MOLD Home Warranty training program; (iii) they purchase or lease our required equipment; (iv) they display the appropriate signage on their vehicles as ServTech; and (v) they sign the standard GOT MOLD Home Warranty service contractor license agreement.
What costs does the ServTech technician bear in servicing a claim?
The cost of servicing a claim is borne almost entirely to GOT MOLD Home Warranty. GOT MOLD Home Warranty pays the ServTech technician to provide the treatment and GOT MOLD Home Warranty provides the Fungicell, Fungus(mold) Protection Treatment Products at no cost. ServTech technicians bears their own direct labor, equipment and transportation costs.
What is the involvement of the professional applicator in claims process?
First, all of our service professionals must be licensed. one of our two person service professional teams need to be licensed in the states in which they seek to be a GOT MOLD Home Warranty Licensed Professional Applicator (“GMLPA”). Second, the approval process of a claim is handled solely by GOT MOLD Home Warranty. Upon approval of a claim, the GMLPA ServTech will be contacted by GOT MOLD Home Warranty and awarded the service contract for warranty holder’s fungus(mold) protection treatment. The GMLPA Our technicians will first will perform an initial inspection of the home and then shortly thereafter provide the Mold Protection Treatment.
Where can homeowners purchase a GOT MOLD Home Warranty?
Home owners can purchase a GOT MOLD Home Warranty from their local one of our authorized insurance agents or directly from GOT MOLD Home Warranty by going to our website at www.gotmoldhw.com and filling out an application.
Will mold remediation be required?
Not in all cases. To the extent there is damage to carpeting, drywall or insulation, for example, those items will need to be replaced by the warranty holder. If there is not damage to the materials in the affected area, costly remediation may not be required.
Will the customers GOT MOLD Home Warranty be canceled or rate change if they have a claim?
No. Under normal circumstances, an incidence of a claim will not change the warranty holder’s monthly premium nor result in their warranty being cancelled.
